Motama to present complete backbone for combined Internet/Over-the-Top and IPTV delivery in managed networks.
At this year's TV Connect event in London (formerly known as IPTV World Forum), Motama will present the latest extensions of its product portfolio. Motama's server offer a one-stop turn-key solution providing end-to-end delivery, for both Internet/Over-the-Top streaming, as well as for managed IPTV networks using enhanced multicast distribution.
At the event, Motama will introduce its new product line, called PolyCaster. PolyCaster servers enable distribution of live streams to a broad range of devices, including PC browser, mobile phones, tablets, and set-top boxes. PolyCaster supports the major streaming formats and protocols, including Adaptive Bitrate Streaming (ABR).
Within Motama's backbone, PolyCaster is used as edge server for Over-the-Top (OTT) streaming in the Internet. PolyCaster can be seamlessly combined with Motama's DVB gateways (TVCaster), transcoders (CodecCaster), and servers for content distribution (RelayCaster). This backbone is demonstrated with middleware from Beenius, and set-top boxes from Albis Technologies.
RelayCaster servers offer a solution for optimized distribution of streams between different regions, countries or continents. By using the RelayCaster Streaming Protocol (RCSP), reliability and data rates of streaming live content can be greatly improved. Having proven its value for live distribution of content between data centers, Motama's RCSP is now also available as client-side software stack for set-top boxes (STB), in particular for ABOX42's M12 STB platform. Packet-loss issues on the last-mile to end users' set-top boxes can be fixed and efficient multicast distribution of IPTV enables telcos/operators to significantly reduce the amount of required streaming servers and outgoing bandwidth.
Finally, the new transcoder is shown, CodecCaster 1000 HD, which offers improved performance, additional features, and competitive pricing.
